Dear Hologic Colleague,
My name is Melissa Banks and I am the Senior Director of Global Product Marketing for Breast Imaging here at Hologic. You may recall seeing me at our Town Hall Meeting last fall, talking about our Selenia Dimensions breast tomosynthesis technology, and all of the wonderful impacts we’re having on finding cancers earlier and reducing unnecessary callbacks for women.

If you haven’t heard, today is International Women’s Day 2013, and this year’s theme is “Stand Up and Be Heard.” This day is a national holiday in many countries around the world, and one that is dedicated to celebrating women. I feel the "Stand Up and Be Heard" theme is so relevant for women and healthcare, and I would like to update you on an initiative Hologic is driving that has a similar sentiment.

In September of 2012, the breast imaging team launched a consumer facing website and digital marketing campaign to educate women on breast tomosynthesis, also known as 3D mammography. Through the site we provide a ton of great information, FAQs and resources for women as well as a facility finder for them to locate a 3D mammogram provider in their area.

So far, it’s been a tremendous success. Through the campaign, we’ve built an active community of more than 18,000 men and women who are interested in 3D mammography. We are thrilled with the level of awareness achieved so far, and wanted to share our success with you, to encourage you to pass this initiative on to the women in your life.

3D mammography is changing outcomes for women – so help educate the women you care about by sending them to Hologic3D.com. Remind them that in honor of today, it’s time to "Stand Up and Be Heard" when it comes to their healthcare!
