Broadcast AdvertisingRadio and television advertising can be a very effective way to reach potential patients. Another advantage is this medium is intrusive — radio ads are interjected right into the talk or music, and even with available technology, most people do not skip over radio commercials. Effective TV spots can include talk shows, daytime dramas and cooking shows.
Included in your Pink Ribbon Guide are 30-second breast cancer awareness radio and TV spots. These can be customized, often by your local broadcast station, to include your facility name and contact, and any other information you wish to include. Altoona Regional Health System in Altoona, Pennsylvania ran the TV spot from the Pink Ribbon Facility Field Guide on several of their local stations and its cable system. The ads ran approximately 550 times on four different stations and Atlantic Broadband with a combined viewing audience of over 120,000 people. This combined with a comprehensive marketing campaign utilizing radio commercials, e-marketing, print ads and billboards, Altoona experienced significant community interest in its breast imaging services measured by the increase in new mammography appointments.
